Automotive

We offer tools and solutions for the development and production of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Our portfolio includes testing technology and testing services for all areas of mobility – regardless of the type of drive system or energy source used. In addition to testing technology and methods, we also deliver media supply systems and conditioning systems as well as building services engineering and infrastructure for testing and production facilities. Heavy Duty & Offroad

In the Heavy Duty division, we offer specialized testing technology solutions for aviation, marine, heavy-duty applications, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and construction machinery. Our high-precision test systems are tailored to the specific requirements of these demanding areas. They ensure maximum reliability and flexibility to deal with the challenges involved in developing and testing heavy-duty components and systems.


Marine

The special requirements of this demanding area are well known to us. Many years of experience in testing marine propulsion systems and our approaches from model-based control engineering also allow us to provide solutions for special tasks in the development of marine power units and drive components. This includes the dynamic operation of speed boat engines on test beds with load simulation of when the propeller emerges from the water or testing of large, single-cylinder engines in the highest performance classes. We are also able to draw on our experience from partnerships with scientific institutes such as the Large Engines Competence Center (LEC). The KS-LEC Oiltracer, an innovative measuring device for live monitoring of oil consumption in combustion engines, was created in the context of this collaboration.


Aviation

The highest safety standards coupled with high performance. With our testing technology, we ensure that components and systems in the aviation industry function reliably even under extreme conditions. Our services range from testing drive systems for the leisure and power-sports sector to fuel cell applications. Hydrogen and alternative fuels are increasingly being used in the development of environmentally friendly flight technologies aimed at reducing the use of fossil fuels and improving energy efficiency. We provide comprehensive support with our many years of expertise in the field of media conditioning and the associated safety technology.


Railway

Our testing technology and methodology are also credibly on track. With our innovative control technologies and solid experience in dealing with the sophisticated mechanics and power converter technology scaled to the performance ranges rail vehicles require, we are in a unique position to offer solutions for developing and testing railway vehicles and their components. In addition to our activities in building services engineering as well as energy generation and distribution, we also offer support with infrastructure expansion and equipping operating facilities.


Energy

The energy transition and the associated need to expand the infrastructure for energy storage and distribution require innovative approaches and flexible, well thought-out solutions with sustainable economic viability. We combine our decades of experience and the know-how gathered in testing technology and building services engineering to offer advanced and sustainable solutions for energy generation, storage and distribution using scientific approaches and engineering expertise from a wide range of disciplines. We have mastered hydrogen applications equally as well as advanced power converter technologies and control engineering.


Defence

The environmental and operating conditions for defence vehicles and systems are demanding. Test equipment must be able to cover special cases and also be easy to adapt to new configurations. Transferring the solutions gained through complex, demanding testing tasks from the development of modern drive and energy systems to large power classes is no easy task. Nonetheless, KS-R2R technology enables seamless scaling of test systems to suit the requirements and performance levels entailed in defence applications.

We have been working closely with universities, colleges of applied sciences and other educational institutions for many years. These collaborations comprise a large number of joint development projects.
