KS ENGINEERS is one of the world’s leading providers of testing solutions for the automotive and mobility sectors. We also undertake projects in building services engineering and industrial automation.

Thanks to the wide range of projects we undertake, we are able to offer apprenticeships in a variety of fields. These include software, electronics, electrical engineering, mechanics and building services engineering. Our trainers in these fields are true experts and are keen to pass on their years of know-how to our future specialists. To prepare you for your career at KS ENGINEERS, we also offer various courses and coaching sessions designed to specifically improve your technical and social skills. During your apprenticeship, you will not only gain technical knowledge; a pleasant working atmosphere and a good team spirit are also important to us. We currently train around 30 apprentices, most of whom fortunately join us as skilled workers after completing their apprenticeships. Experienced colleagues provide training in ten different apprenticeships in the areas of purchasing, electronics, building technology, IT, logistics, mechanics, and software.

APPLICATION DEVELOPER – Coding

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
Vocational school: Eibiswald

  • Programming/coding applications
  • Creating test reports and ensuring compliance with all quality standards
  • Creating technical documentation for the programmes you have developed yourself
  • Creating and further developing databases

As an Application Developer – Coding, you will be trained in various programming languages and development environments to develop software solutions for different areas of application. Your main task will be to design, programme and test software applications. You will learn to understand requirements from customers or internal stakeholders and translate them into functional software solutions. This involves writing source code, integrating databases, implementing user interfaces and ensuring system compatibility. We will start with small exercises, and over the course of your apprenticeship you will be able to work independently on projects.

OPERATIONS LOGISTICS – Business Administrator

Apprenticeship duration: 3 years
Vocational school: Mitterdorf (Mürztal)

  • Receiving goods deliveries, checking quality, and ensuring goods are stored and retrieved correctly
  • Coordinating orders and monitoring the flow of goods
  • Monitoring stock levels and carrying out stock-taking
  • Working across departments, including dispatch, goods receipt and goods issue

As a logistics specialist, you are responsible for ensuring that the right materials are available at the right location in the correct quantities, at the right time, of the appropriate quality and at the right cost. Your tasks include receiving deliveries, carrying out quality checks, ensuring proper storage and picking goods for internal departments. We use specific IT programmes to ensure you can carry out your duties efficiently. You will also work closely with various departments within the company, such as purchasing, production, quality assurance and dispatch.

BUYER

Apprenticeship duration: 3 years
Vocational school: Feldbach

  • Assisting with the identification of purchasing requirements
  • Helping to select suppliers
  • Contributing to purchasing processes, including requests for quotations, price comparisons and
  • order confirmation management, as well as supplier management

As a purchaser, you will be trained in supplier management, negotiation and procurement processes. You will learn to develop effective purchasing strategies, select suppliers and meet the demand for products and services. Your main task as a purchaser is to identify purchasing requirements, select suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate contracts and monitor the purchasing process. You will learn to carry out market analyses, compare prices, coordinate delivery dates and ensure the quality of the goods supplied.

IT SPECIALIST – Systems Engineering

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
Vocational school: Eibiswald

  • Maintenance, repair and servicing of IT systems and networks, as well as the installation and
  • configuration of hardware and software components
  • Documenting technical processes and rectifying vulnerabilities and faults
  • Helpdesk support activities

 

As an IT technician, you will be trained in the areas of network technology, server administration, system maintenance and support. You will learn to set up, manage and optimise IT infrastructures. Your main task as an IT specialist with a focus on systems engineering will be to install, configure and maintain IT systems within the company. You will learn to set up networks, administer servers, implement security solutions and provide technical support.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – Automation and Process Control Engineering

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Eibiswald

  • Industrial switch cabinet construction
  • Cabling of test benches
  • Use of basic electrical testing equipment
  • Small-scale equipment construction, soldering work, connector assembly
  • Installing, commissioning and optimising automation and process control systems

 

As an electrical engineer, you will be trained in the areas of electrical installation, switchgear and control systems, soldering, and cable assembly. With a focus on industrial switch cabinet construction, you will learn to manufacture, test and install complex systems for commissioning. Your main task will be to manufacture switch cabinets for control and automation systems.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – Electrical and Building Services Engineering

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Voitsberg

  • Installation, testing and commissioning of electrical wiring and support systems
  • Installation and connection of electrical systems and simple control systems
  • Measurement, evaluation and testing of typical non-electrical and electrical parameters
  • Troubleshooting faults, defects and malfunctions in electrical systems, equipment and machinery

As an electrical engineer, you will learn to plan, install, maintain and repair electrical systems. Your main task will be to carry out electrical installations in buildings. You will learn to read circuit diagrams, lay cables, connect switches and sockets, and install lighting systems. As part of your training, you will become familiar with and use various electrical devices, tools and measuring instruments. You will also learn to comply with electrical safety standards and regulations, and to analyse and rectify faults in electrical systems.

PLUMBER – Gas, Plumbing, and Heating Systems

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
Vocational school: Graz

  • Planning and installing the appropriate heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems
  • Installing the necessary piping and pipe connections using the required metal and plastic working techniques, such as welding, pressing, gluing, and bending
  • Installing, connecting, and commissioning heating appliances and boilers (e.g., heat pumps, gas, wood, district heating), radiators, fixtures, sinks, and thermostats
  • Performing maintenance, repair, and servicing work on heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems

As a plumber, you will be trained in the areas of piping systems, water supply, and sanitary engineering. You will learn to professionally plan, install, and maintain gas and water supply systems. Your main task in the HVAC field is to install piping systems in buildings, make connections, and install fixtures. You will learn to install heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems, connect sanitary fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and showers, and design wastewater systems. You will also gain knowledge of safety technology and the legal regulations governing gas and plumbing installations.

METALWORKING TECHNICIAN – Mechanical Engineering

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Graz

  • Assembling machine components, installing bearings, and fitting hydraulic lines
  • Performing repairs, commissioning, and maintenance on all types of machinery
  • Reading and applying technical documentation
  • Identifying, isolating, and resolving faults, defects, and malfunctions in systems and machinery

 

As a mechanical engineer, you will be trained in the fields of mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, materials science, and quality control. You will learn to manufacture, assemble, and maintain metal parts. Your main task will be to manufacture metal components based on technical drawings and plans. You will also gain knowledge in the assembly and maintenance of machine components. As part of your training, you will learn about and use various tools, machines, and machining techniques.

METALWORKING TECHNICIAN – Welding Technology

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Graz

  • Machine and hand-process relevant materials
  • Prepare weld joints by hand and using machinery
  • Perform various welding processes on metals
  • Post-process weld joints, as well as identify and correct welding defects

 

As a metal technician, you will be trained in welding processes, materials science, weld preparation, and quality control. You will learn to weld metal parts safely and professionally. Your main task as a metal technician specializing in welding technology is to apply various welding processes, such as TIG or MIG/MAG welding, to join metal components. You will learn to prepare weld joints, set welding parameters, and inspect the quality of welded joints. As part of your training, you will become familiar with and use various welding techniques and equipment. You will also learn to weld different metals, such as steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, and to apply appropriate safety measures during the welding process.

METALWORKING TECHNICIAN – Machining

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years
Vocational school: Graz

  • Creating, programming, and modifying manufacturing programs for computer-controlled (CNC) machine tools and production systems
  • Transferring and adapting computer-aided (CAD) designs into manufacturing programs (CAM)
  • Setting up, commissioning, and operating machine tools and manufacturing systems for the machining of materials

 

The apprenticeship as a machining technician offers an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of precision metalworking. You will be introduced to the art of creating, programming, and adapting manufacturing programs for computer-controlled machine tools and manufacturing systems. Your tasks will include transferring and adapting designs from computer-aided design (CAD) systems into manufacturing programs (CAM). You will also be trained in the setup, commissioning, and operation of machine tools and manufacturing systems for the precise machining of materials.

We recommend using the PDF format—this ensures a smooth upload process.

Resume:

Keep it short and to the point—one page is more than enough. Give us an overview of your education, interests, and previous internships. A photo isn’t required, but it’s welcome.

Cover Letter:

You don’t need to write a traditional letter. What’s much more important is: Tell us why you’re interested in a career in teaching and in KS ENGINEERS.
What inspires you? What experiences have you had so far?
An authentic letter will make us curious about you!

You’ll be given simple tasks in the following areas:

Don’t worry—you won’t need a calculator or any preparation. If you’d still like to prepare, take a look at a few exercises on basic arithmetic from 8th grade.

The trial internship is your chance to show us what you’re made of!
